Vol. 01 · A practice introduction

Where reflection becomes a clinical act

Bridge Street Medical Practice PC offers outpatient psychiatric and psychotherapy care for adults across New York, with the unhurried attention that meaningful treatment requires.

Our care

How our care is shaped

01

Psychotherapy

Individual therapy at this practice is not organized around a single modality applied uniformly to everyone who walks in. Your therapist draws on a range of evidence-based approaches and makes deliberate choices about which theoretical frame best serves your particular situation — and why.

Couples & Family Care

Relational care at Bridge Street Medical proceeds from the recognition that two people in a room together are not simply two individuals who happen to be adjacent — they constitute a system with its own history, language, and patterns of repair and injury. Work with couples and families is structured to make that system visible and to help the people within it develop more deliberate ways of being with one another.

Specialty Care

Certain presentations require more than general outpatient support, and our specialty programs are designed to provide the structured, focused care that those presentations call for. Whether the work involves anxiety that has organized itself around specific situations, mood episodes that recur in identifiable patterns, or the particular weight of grief and loss, specialty programming at Bridge Street Medical brings a higher frequency and coordinated approach to people who need it.

Psychiatry & Medication Management

Psychiatric care at Bridge Street Medical begins with an evaluation that takes the time to construct a genuine clinical picture — not a symptom checklist matched to a code, but a conversation that accounts for history, context, and the patient's own account of what has changed. Medication decisions, when they are appropriate, are explained with the same depth of reasoning that went into making them, and they are revisited as your situation evolves.

Telehealth

Secure video sessions through Bridge Street Medical carry the same clinical weight as in-office appointments — the same clinician, the same length, the same documented continuity of care. For patients navigating New York's demands on time and geography, telehealth removes a logistical barrier without asking you to sacrifice the quality of the clinical relationship you have built.

About the practice

Bridge Street Medical

Some practices measure success by volume. We measure it by what happens inside a single appointment — the quality of attention, the precision of the question asked, the willingness to sit with complexity rather than resolve it prematurely.

Our clinical team is composed of board-certified psychiatrists and independently licensed therapists (psychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors). We deliver care both in person and through secure telehealth, and we work with most major commercial insurance plans.

Common questions

Frequently asked

How far in advance do I need to book an initial appointment?
Intake availability shifts week to week depending on which clinicians have openings, and we encourage prospective patients to reach out as soon as they are ready to begin. Because we schedule initial evaluations with adequate time to be genuinely useful, slots are limited; our intake coordinator can give you a realistic current estimate when you contact the practice.
Is telehealth available for all services, or only certain types of appointments?
Secure video sessions are available for psychiatric medication management, individual psychotherapy, and most specialty program appointments. Certain initial evaluations are conducted in person when the clinical picture warrants it, and we will discuss format preferences with you during intake so the arrangement reflects both your circumstances and good clinical practice.
What credentials do the clinicians at Bridge Street Medical hold?
Our psychiatrists are board-certified and hold medical degrees from accredited institutions; our therapists hold graduate licensure appropriate to their discipline — LCSW, LMHC, or equivalent New York state credentials. Every clinician on staff maintains continuing education requirements and is in good standing with their respective licensing board.
